Grants For Veterans and Soldiers Family 2024 by AWWA

Arrmy wives Welfre Association is dedicated to welfare of the family of serving soldiers and veterans family. In this article we will provide information related to the Grants extended by the AWWA for the beneficiaries.

The Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) provides financial support in the following areas:

Education Grant: The following categories of students are supported by AWWA.

Children of all ladies widowed after the retirement of their husbands are eligible for educational scholarship.

  • I to VIII             :     Rs 10,000/- per child upto two
    children in one academic year
  • IX to XII            :     Rs 14,000/- per child upto two
    children in one academic year
  • Graduation         :     Rs 20,000/- per child upto two
    children in one academic year
  • Post Graduation     :     Rs 25,000/- per child upto two
    children in one academic year
  • Professional Courses  :     Rs 50,000/- per child upto two
    (i.e Techinical Grant)                 children in one academic year

The above rates of scholarship will also apply to children with special needs of ladies widowed after retirement of their husband.

Scholarship for children of disabled soldiers invalided out of service on medical grounds and not drawing any pension.

Technical education grant to the children of widows after retirement and disabled soldiers invalided out of service on medical grounds and not drawing any pension, pursuing technical/higher education to a maximum of Rs 50,000/-.

Any other deserving cases at the discretion of President AWWA.

Attach following documents: Copy of the Widow/Dependant Identity Card. An attested copy of the Discharge Certificate.
Copy of PPO
Copy of School/College identity card, previous years mark sheet and current academic year tution fee deposit receipt must be attached to process the claim.

Disaster Relief Support: The AWWA provided financial relief to ex-servicemen and their widows, who havesuffered heavy losses in any natural calamity. Applications alongwith documents supporting the facts of the plea and proof of identity can be forwarded to the AWWA office. President AWWA, on recommendation of the coordinating body, can sanction a one time grant at her discretion for such cases. Following documents are required:

  • opy of the Widow/Dependent Identity Card.
  • An attested copy of the Discharge Certificate.
  • Ownership certificate of the damaged house.

Certificate by the competent authority regarding cause and extent of damage. The estimated cost of the repair of the damaged house evaluated by the competent authority.

Penury Grant: President AWWA, on recommendations of the coordinating Body, can sanction a one time grant at her discretion for cases, who are in economic distress and have not been provided financial relief from any other agency.

  • Copy of the Widow/Dependent Identity Card. An attested copy of the Discharge Certificate.
  • Copy of PPO
Financial assistance towards Marriage Grant: Widows/dependants/orphaned children who are in financial distress.Copy of the Widow/Dependent Identity Card.An attested copy of the Discharge Certificate.Copy of PPOMarriage Card  

Veer Naris: All ladies of died in harness cases and those widowed post retirement and their dependent children are eligible to seek financial assistance if they donot qualify for a similar grant from DGR/AG’s branch or any other agency.

Countersignatures: The form can be countersigned by Station Headquarters/Any Army Unit and should be routed through ZSB/RSB.

Note:- Last date for receipt of the Education Grant application at AWWA Sectt is 31 Dec every year.
