Exservicemen need to get resettled after retirement from Armed Forces. It has been seen that most of the ESM opt to engage in the Govt Dept in Gp C or Gp D Posts through all India Competitive Examinations including clerical jobs in Bank, railway, PSU, local administration etc. There are a variety of career opportunities available for ex-servicemen in India. Here are ten options that you may opt. Reservation of vacancies in various central and state govt jobs including PSU, Banks etc maintained with strict monitoring of DESW, MoD. Relaxation of age is also available for ex-servicemen :
- Civil Services: Ex-servicemen can apply for various Graduate level , HS Level and Matric level posts through Staff Selection Commission (SSC). 5 Years age relaxation only available for the posts selected by UPSC and no reservation is there like SC/ST/OBC/EWS etc. However. for recruitment of Gp C Posts, age relaxation is available equal to the number of years rendered in armed forces plus an weightage of 3 years. Pay protection is applicable for all these posts for Commissioned Officers only but retired JCOs/OR should join at the initial pay, no pay protection/ pay fixation at last drawn pay is applicable to them.
- Banking: Public sector banks such as State Bank of India and Bank of India, PNB etc have reserved seats for ex-servicemen in clerical and officer positions. Pay protection is also feasible in some banks.
- Security: Ex-servicemen can work in the private security industry as Management , Trainer etc, providing security services to individuals, businesses, or government agencies.
- Teaching: Ex-servicemen with a teaching background can explore career opportunities in the education sector.
- Railways: Indian Railways has a special quota for ex-servicemen in recruitment for various posts.
- Aviation: The aviation industry, including airlines and airports, has a demand for ex-servicemen with relevant skills and experience.
