ECHS has introduced many new system which has strengthen the services to the beneficiaries in better and systemic way. As it is well known to all that all ECHS card holder are required to go through the Annual Validation of their Card. Income Proof to validate dependency of all dependents above 18 years of age required to be submitted through online mode only. Whereas, ECHS has circulated that since now These ECHS Members Need No Card Renewal – if aged above 80 Years.
Children above 18 years of age and parents are mainly comes under this category. The logic behind annual validation is to confirm , if the beneficiary is actually dependent or not. Some time it has been found that son/daughter may be married or start earning above the exemption limit with gainful employment, in such case they will be no more a dependent of the veteran.

Whereas, it has also been found that parents are at the most of the cases of PBOR, not an earning member but has to submit their income proof. Specifically when they are old enough to earn any more, should be exempted from such formalities. The matter has been considered by the Govt and now the latest rules and procedure is that, no validation of ECHS card required for dependents above 80 years of age. Detailed guidelines in this regard has been circulated by the ECHS which is reproduced below –
