Why Change of nomenclature of Ranks of Indian Army is necessary ?

Subedar, Havildar और Sepoy जैसे ranks का origin Mughal era से जुड़ा है — ऐतिहासिक तौर पर यह शब्द important हैं, लेकिन आज के modern defence environment में ये soldiers की actual responsibility और status को reflect नहीं करते।
कई veterans का मानना है कि current rank titles, खासतौर पर senior NCOs के लिए, उनकी role और respect को सही तरह से represent नहीं करते — खासकर जब comparison Indian Navy, Air Force या developed countries की armies से किया जाए।
