VITAL INFORMATION ON ECHS TREATMENT AND ADMINISTRATION

REFERRAL POLICY OF ECHS FOR ALL RANKS

ECHS has modified their policy depending upon the requirement and socio economic scenario. Some major changes policy changes are noted here.

Referral to empanelled hospital/servicehospital for 70 years and above : No referral required for OPD consultation and Inv like PET, MRI, CT at emp hospital. For below 70 years, referral is required for OPD consultation.

▪ Each referral is valid for 03 months.

▪ With each referral, total 06 consultations are allowed in the same hospital.

▪ For Inv/ procedures advised by Service Specialist /Govt Specialist ECHSF-U not required for unlisted Inv and procedure.

▪ Referral is required for any admission (IPD) other than emergency including chemo/dialysis.

▪ Referral is not required for emergency admission.

TREATMENT PROCESS IN ECHS

▪ The ceiling rate for Lung transplant / Heart transplant / Lung and heart transplant is increased to Rs 25 L/ 15 L / 35 L.

▪ Diagnostic centers are now empaneled and home collection is available.

▪ Home delivery of medicine through authorised local chemist is under process.

▪ Implementation of home delivery of medicine in a phased manner through common service center scheme (CSC scheme) is under process.

PROCEDURE FOR 64 KB ECHS SMART CARD

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FOR 64 KB ECHS SMART CARD 64 KB ECHS

Smart Card is in vogue and all other ECHS Smart Cards are required to be updated. For further queries and instructions of submission of ECHS Smart Card application ECHS website can be used. The following links can be used for the same.

CHARGES FOR  PRINTING OF 64 KB ECHS SMART CARD


Following revised rates have been implemented for printing of 64KB smart cards wef 08 Mar 2024.

(a) Printing of 64KB fresh smart card: Rs 173.50/-
(b) Printing in lieu of old 16/32KB smart card: Rs 131.13/-
(c) Printing due to loss of 64KB smart card: Rs 52.05/-

ANNUAL VALIDATION OF ECHS CARD FOR DEPENDENTS : PROCESS

(a) All dependent ECHS beneficiaries (excluding spouse), above 18 yrs of age to carryout Annual Validation as per CO ECHS letter No B/49711- NSC/AG/ECHS/Gen Corrs dt 26 Oct 22. In case of any issue write E-mail to dirrcbnga@echs.gov.in or bang.rcechs@gmail.com

(b) ECHS beneficiary above 80 years of age are exempted from validation.

(c) ECHS beneficiary with 64 KB ECHS Smart Card White Card is exempted from validation.

(d) One time Eligibility Extn for uploading proof for validation of cards are given in three instances:-

i) First time by the OIC Polyclinic and is valid for 90 days.

ii) In case for lapse in submission of proof for validation, Second time extension by the Approval of Director Regional Centre ECHS as per directions issued by Central Org ECHS vide their letter No B/49711- NSC/AG/ECHS/Gen Corr dt 13 Jul 2023 for unblocking & extending eligibility for three months of beneficiaries.

iii) In case for lapse in submission of proof for validation for second time last and final eligibility extension option to the primary beneficiary of three months by the approval of MD ECHS be obtained as per Central Org ECHS letter No B/49711-NSC/AG/ECHS/Gen Corr dt 16 Jan 2024.

Some other Services and Updates on ECHS

 (a) Auto Transfer of Polyclinic Change available through ECHS Mobile App and website.

(b) Auto Approval for Change of Mobile Number of Primary Beneficiary and Dependents available through ECHS Mobile App and website.

(c) Beneficiary can visit any policlinic to obtain referral in case they have gone outstation away from their parent polyclinic.
